Posted - March 6, 2010: My final word on the IamAmiWhoami matter since I really don't want to play any more due to all of the fanatic Christina Aguilera fans on YouTube. It is NOT Christina that much is for sure... She is a major label commercial pop artist and this just isn't her style no matter how hard the fans wish it to be true. Even if by some chance she truly had this in her, her record label would never allow her to do this (people just don't realize how much control the major labels have over artists like this, but people here are way to gullible and naive.) If anything, Madonna would do this before Christina would or could (but it's not Madonna.)
No, this is definitely an independent or small label artist from Europe, most likely Sweden which points to people like Lykke Li (which has the EXACT same crooked teeth, not just kind of similar messed up bottom teeth like the others, but EXACT - http://the-hidden.com/iamamiwhoami_lykke_li.jpg ) or Fever Ray, etc.
If it were 10 years ago, Alison Goldfrapp would have totally done this, but her upcoming album is looking and sounding more along the lines of a 1970s Olivia Newton-John disco vibe (unless she's trying to throw everybody off.) http://www.hardcandymusic.com/2010/01/goldfrapp-head-first-official-album.html
Not Trent Reznor or anyone close to him; we run with the same friends and we know that he's been working on other projects, mostly NIN related (with the one non-NIN related project he has been working on is the Year Zero TV show; loosely based on his album of the same title, but not related to NIN the band, as it will be a fictional "near-future doomsday" TV series on a major network. Think Road Warrior meets 24.)
Definitely could have been a Massive Attack thing, except that they JUST released an album... so again all signs point to Lykke Li or someone like that, or someone none of us have even thought of that will totally surprise us all.
As for the animal code that was sent to MTV, I would add the letters of the animals, subtract the "says what" and the result would be 160. No clue what that means and it's probably completely wrong...
After some further investigation, it looks like the overwhelming evidence actually points to The Golden Filter! Their upcoming album (to be released April 26 2010) is titled Völuspá which is a Nordic poem that relates the story of the creation of the world and its coming end. Also, their photoblog has images that look like they were taken at the same location as these Youtube videos. On top of that, MTV has apparently contacted most of the artists whose names have been mentioned as possible culprits of these viral videos, all of whom have denied it, except for The Golden Filter who has had no response (I'm still leaning towards Lykke Li though.)
My final thought on this, and I've said it before, if I am totally wrong and it turns out to be Christina (which would be the biggest shock and reinvention of an artist I've ever seen in the music industry) then I will bow down and proclaim her the most brilliant artist ever and become her biggest fan, but luckily, that won't happen, because if you know anything about the actual music business, then you'd know this is definitely not Christina Aguilera.
